Darron enjoys an ever-growing reputation as an exciting artist. This bel-canto trained tenor is at home in concert, recital and on the operatic stage in leading roles from Mozart to Verdi. In the leading role of Elijah Muhammed in Oakland Opera Theater’s 2006 production of Malcolm X by Anthony Davis, Mr. Flagg won praise from critics such as Joshua Kosman of the San Francisco Chronicle, who remarked that Mr. Flagg “heroically...sang the stratospheric part”. Becoming known for his “splendid” ringing tenor voice, Mr. Flagg is equally respected for his dramatic acting skills, musicianship, and humble artistry.
