Darron enjoys an ever-growing reputation as an exciting artist. This bel-canto trained
tenor is at home in concert, recital and on the operatic stage in leading roles
from Mozart to Verdi. In the leading role of Elijah Muhammed in Oakland Opera Theater’s
2006 production of Malcolm X by Anthony Davis, Mr. Flagg won praise from
critics such as Joshua Kosman of the San Francisco Chronicle, who remarked that
Mr. Flagg “heroically...sang the stratospheric part”. Becoming known
for his “splendid” ringing tenor voice, Mr. Flagg is equally respected
for his dramatic acting skills, musicianship, and humble artistry.
